Clyde documented most of his life through a lens. He mentions his camera in one of his first letters to his mother, a dispatch from his deployment during WWII. He was an exceptional photographer; his images of birds, family, landscapes, and his travels reveal his curiosity and engagement with the world. These images, the oldest of which date back to the mid-1940’s, are artifacts not only of Clyde’s life, but of American postwar society.
